I’m an architect and writer whose career has unfolded at the intersection of design, journalism, and publishing.
My background in architectural practice gives me an insider’s perspective on the built environment, while my years in editorial have taught me how to find the story behind the work.
I began my career in architectural practice before discovering that I was just as interested in writing about buildings as designing them. That path eventually took me from architecture into design journalism and publishing, including serving as Managing Editor
of Contract magazine.
Since then, I’ve written extensively about architecture, interiors, sustainability, technology, materials, lighting, and the broader forces shaping the built environment. My work ranges from reported features and interviews to project stories and profiles.
My architectural background continues to shape the way I work.
I understand drawings, materials, construction, design intent, and the realities of practice—but I’m always looking beyond the technical information to find the people, ideas, tensions, and decisions that make a story worth telling.
I’m an AIA member, LEED Accredited Professional, and Construction Documents Technologist (CDT).
After many years in New York, I now write from North Texas, where a quieter landscape has given me a different perspective on place, design, and the ways we inhabit the world.
